I wonder
I wonder if I'm the only person here who thinks this is absolutely awful singing.

Like the generation of collectors before me, for many years I believed that there were few if any great singers who started their careers after about 1909. But however much they worshipped the Golden Age singers, collectors had to make excuses for Figner. Local and changing tastes in voices and changing performance style can't explain it. The guy just can't sing.

Am I wrong?
