Chaliapin's first recordings

The date of recording 572x – 577x matrixes is taken from Alan Kelly’s catalogue. BTW, your fellow-countryman A.I.Zheleznyj came to the same conclusion in his research. There is a whole chapter dedicated to this theme in his book Our Friend – a Record. The notes of a Collector.

И всё-же вопрос спорный )

Скорее всего запись была произведена в декабре 1901 года.
Я постараюсь подобрать в имеющейся у меня литературе сведения и напишу позже небольшой очерк по этой теме.
Можно пока лишь с уверенностью утверждать, что запись была произведена не позднее января 1902 г.
Возможно и то, что записи матричных номеров 572x – 577x производились в период с декабря по январь. Но последнее - сугубо моё личное мнение и не подтверждено (пока) фактами.
