Георг Вильгельм Пабст снимал этот фильм три раза, на трех языках - английском, немецком и французском, тогда это было принято (вместо дубляжа). Шаляпин играл Дон Кихота во всех трех версиях (и исполнял музыкальные номера на трех языках). Версия фильма на немецком языке считается утерянной.
На этой пластинке французская версия.
