recorded 1939, composer is Frederick Hippmann, who also conducts the orchestra

Thank you, but are you sure about 1939 ? "M 1704" was recorded in 1934 and its matrix number is very close to "M 1731"...

Sorry, it should be early 1938 instead of 1939. Clangor was one of the smaller companies and their numbers ran in at least 12 different blocks some of which were used twice and distinguished by prefixed letters, which may explain the time span between M 1704 and M 1731.
