Эста – небольшая чешская фирма грамзаписи. Основана в 1930 г. в Праге. На ней записывалась прежде всего чешская музыка разных жанров. Фабрика работала во время II мировой войны; надо добавить, что в студии „Эсты” сделано свыше 200 записей украинских и российских (РОА) коллаборационистов, которые были в последствии изданы “Полидором”1.

Сразу после освобождения Пргаги „Эста” приступила к записи гимнов союзных держав, а потом – российской музыки. На ней записывались такие колективы, как Ансамбль 1-го Украинского Фронта (май – июнь 1945 г.) и Краснознамённый Ансамбль песни и пляски п/у А.В.Александрова (июнь 1946 г.). Были и многие переписи советских пластинок, выполненные осенью 1945 г. Фирма была национализирована в августе 1945 г .2; всё имущество было передано недавно основаной государственной компании “Gramofonove zavody”. Последнняя матрица перед национализацией была 4900, а последняя оригинальная запись “Эсты” – 5311 (11.1946)3. В 40-х и 50-х часть записей была издана на “Супрафоне”, который остался монополистом.
