I am pretty much confused regarding the prefix of the matrix number. In Alan Kelly Italian Catalog, the prefix is "G", while in Russian Catalog the prefix is "b". At the same time on the mirror we see "R", but may be it stands for "Russian".

Again, in Alan Kelly recording sessions diary we see the following entry:

So, it looks like the original prefix was "b" that later for some reasons was changed...

Also, it is a rare case when Catalog number conflicts with another one:

R-suffix

22081 is no reissue, please correct that in the additional information. It is a first (original) issue and by far Giraldoni's rarest record. It was only offered in Russia. Few collectors know of its existence.

I know that Alan Kelly mistakenly listed this disc with "G" suffix. Perhaps it was a reading error or no example survived in the EMI archive. The "R" suffix makes it possible that Belford G. Royal recorded this disc.

On a later pressing, if there ever was one, the handwritten information "2825-R Russian" would have been exchanged for the printed "2825b" suffix.

Please don't confuse the Gramophone Co. number blocks. The 2-22000 number block was begun after the 22000 block was filled.

The first name of Giraldoni is Eugenio.

22081 MAKAROV-YUNEV - 7" Berliner. К 1902 уже был исключен из торговых каталогов, как и остальные диски, записанные по технологии Acid-Process. Поэтому конфликта не было.
