Reverse side is TM 477, "Andante cantabile" from Chajkovskij's D-major Quartet op.11.
The Guarneri-Quartett consists of Daniel Karpilowski (violin), Maurits Stromfeld (violin), Walter Lutz ('cello) and possibly Boris Kroyt (viola).
Recording date is April 1929: We know that matrices TM 478/79/80 by Gitta Alpár were cut on April 9th, and the Guarneris were in the studio immediately before and after that session, most likely on Monday April 8th (Chaikovskij) and Wednesday April 10th (Ippolitov-Ivanov).
April should be right for M 477, as M 474 dates from the 4th of that month. But my next known date is May 23th for M 510, so M 481 may well have been recorded in May...
No, there isn't. For some reason Lindström's black label edition adds a "T" - perhaps to distinguish the Homocord number from something similar out of the Lindström "family"?
According to a Homocord catalogue printed in March 1931, in the collection of a friend of mine, the viola-player on this record is in fact one D. Bagarotti (so not Giovanni, the more famous violinist).
