A Pastortal written by an unknown composer in 1813 on 13th January. In despite of this fact attended a very big success. You may be superstitious or not and even not believe in the fatality of number 13, yet the fact remains that all the men who lived in the 13th century are dead.
The Columbia catalogue (Vol 8 of the Voices of the Past series) dates this at around early 1927. The London A series (and the corresponding AX 30cm series) started in late 1923 and continued into the electric period. A later pressing of this might use a WA prefix. The W (for the 'Western Electric' electrical recording process) is there on this, but in a circle separately.
