In fact this is supposed to be a Venetian song, as it comes from Hahn's cycle Venezia. I think the music is Hahn's own, not based on a traditional original.

I once played Hahn's own recording of some of these songs to a Venetian, who was very dubious about the dialect. He couldn't recognise it as Venetian.

I have another Soviet recording of this song where the composer is given as Buratti, the writer of the verse.

I'd love to hear how Lemeshev sings this, and hope we get a sound file some time!

Thank you so much for the links, very good to hear.

The Soviet record I have of this is by V Davydova from around the late 1940s.

Zdes i na vsekh GPT 7203: osnova vse zhe ne frantzuzskaya, a italyanskaya (venetziansky dialekt), avtor teksta Petro Buratti (Pietro Buratti). Pravilnoe venetzianskoe napisanie nazvaniya -- "La barcheta". Standartnoe italyanskoe -- "La barchetta"; raznoboi poshel s samogo pervogo izdaniya teksta v knige 1817 goda: tam zaglavie v soderzhanii i v samom tekste bylo s dvumya "t", a vnutri stikhotvoreniya slovo napechatano s odnim "t".

Tekst: https://vec.wikisource.org/wiki/La_barchetta

Otskanirovannyi original knigi: https://books.google.com/books?id=E1pDsZfyhAgC&pg=PA29&dq=%22barchetta%22&source=gbs_toc_r&cad=3#v=onepage&q=%22barchetta%22&f=false

Frantzuzskaya podtekstovka (avtor Moris Lena -- Maurice Léna) poyavilas vo frantzuzskom variante notnogo izdaniya 1901 goda, no kak vtoraya (pod italyanskoi). Nazvanie pesni tam "La barcheta", v podtekstovke slovo po-italyanski dano "barcheta", po-frantzuzski -- "barquette". Parallelno bylo italyanskoe izdanie, bez frantzuzskogo teksta.

Tut est oblozhka frantzuzskogo izdaniya: http://reynaldo-hahn.net/SL/Html/venezia_presentation.htm

A tut faksimilnaya perepechatka pervoi stranitzy "Barketty" iz nego: http://www.onlinesheetmusic.com/ii-la-barchetta-p444847.aspx

A tut prodaetsya italyanskoe izdanie (est kartinki oblozhki i pervoi stranitzy "Barketty") -- http://www.ebay.fr/itm/1901-Venezia-chansons-en-dialecte-venitien-Partition-Sand-Raynaldo-Hahn-/292211133948?hash=item4409240dfc:g:0JQAAOSwTapV5BI2

A russky tekst -- N. Raiskogo (Nazariya Grigorevicha?).
